What is Young Community Leaders (YCL)?

Young Community Leaders recognizes that young people are the ones to create new possibilities and show leadership skills in the community.  YCL gives them an opportunity to develop skills in a fun and encouraging environment. The course is for young people ages 16-25 who are eager to learn good leadership abilities and aspire to being leaders in the future.

YCL aims to:

 - Enable young people to develop practical skills to use in their work, study and personal life.  Gain confidence to be leaders and empower young people to make a positive difference to their society through the practice of effective leadership.

- Give young people the opportunity to use their energy and talents in the community.

- Offer support from the other young leaders.

What will I get out of it?

 - YCL participants will make new friends, gain new skills, grow in confidence and have fun learning to be an effective leader.

- Participants will have opportunities to start their own initiatives or to become involved in the local community in new and interesting ways.

- A Foundation Certificate in Youth Leadership and Community Action.  (Fetac Level 6) accredited by NUI Galway.
