Donahies Community School Awarded EU Funding under the Jean Monnet Programme

Donahies Community School is proud to announce that we have been awarded significant funding from the European Union under the Jean Monnet Programme. This prestigious award recognises schools that actively promote understanding of the European Union, its values, and its role in the modern world.

Over the next three years, this funding will allow Donahies Community School to develop a wide range of EU-themed projects, educational activities, and professional learning opportunities for both students and staff. Through workshops, debates, exhibitions, and school exchanges, our community will gain a deeper awareness of how European cooperation impacts everyday life in Ireland and across the continent.

The Jean Monnet Programme will also support:

  • Teacher training and curriculum development linked to European studies.
  • Student engagement initiatives exploring democracy, human rights, and sustainability in the EU.
  • Partnerships with European schools through Erasmus+ and other international programmes.
  • Visits to EU institutions and opportunities for real-world learning beyond the classroom.

This achievement reflects our ongoing commitment to providing a globally minded education that prepares students to play an active role in shaping the future of Europe.

We extend our sincere thanks to the European Union, the Department of Education, and everyone in our school community who helped make this possible.
