Stay Safe Online

Think Before You Click and Share:

Is it true? Don't believe everything you see online. Check the source before sharing.

Is it kind? Think about how your posts and messages might make others feel. If you wouldn't say it to someone's face, don't say it online.

Is it private? Be careful about sharing personal information like your address, phone number, school, or passwords. Once it's online, it can be hard to take back.

Who can see it? Understand your privacy settings on social media and other platforms. Make sure you're sharing with the right people.

Protect Your Personal Information:

Keep passwords secret. Don't share them with anyone except your parents/guardians. Use strong, unique passwords for different accounts.

Be wary of strangers. Don't accept friend requests or messages from people you don't know in real life. Never meet up with someone you've only met online without telling a trusted adult.

Watch out for scams. Be suspicious of messages asking for personal information or money, or those that seem too good to be true.

Be Respectful Online:

Treat others as you'd like to be treated. Online bullying (cyberbullying) is never okay. If you see it happening, don't join in, and consider reporting it.

Respect other people's opinions. It's okay to disagree but do so respectfully.

Know Where to Get Help:

Talk to a trusted adult. If something online makes you feel uncomfortable, worried, or upset, talk to a parent/guardian, teacher, or another trusted adult.

Know how to report. Most platforms have ways to report inappropriate content or behaviour. Learn how to use these tools.

Remember: The internet can be a great place to learn and connect, but it's important to be aware of the risks and know how to stay safe. If you're ever unsure about something online, ask for help!
