Information for prospective parents
For 1st-year entry to the Donahies Community School from a feeder or nearby school, the CAPPS (Central Application Post Primary Schools for Dublin North East) form must be completed.
CAPPS 1st Year Enrollment Process - Key Stages for parents
1. Application Form Distribution and Completion
Timing: September (when child is in 6th class)
Action: CAPPS form is distributed to parents by the primary school for parents to complete and return the completed forms to the primary school (e.g. Holy Trinity Primary School).
2. Application Processing and Initial Contact
Timing: October
Action: CAPPS forwards the completed forms to the selected post-primary school (e.g. Donahies Community School). The post-primary school makes contact with parents regarding registration. Timing: October 1st Action: The enrollment process begins at the post-primary school.
3. Notification and Assessment
Timing: End of November
Action: Post-primary school typically advises parents of the decision regarding a place in the school.
Timing: Last Saturday in January
Action: Incoming Assessment test takes place for all schools in the CAPPS system.
4. ASD Class Applications
Process: Parents applying for a place in the school's ASD class should contact the main school office directly.
If your child’s primary school is outside of CAPPS you may apply direct to the Main Office Phone 01-8473522, email office@donahiescs.ie or download application form at donahiescommunityschool.com and return directly to school.

Application/Transfer for all other year groups are on an individual basis.
