Support for Learning

What we do

Our dedicated and skilled Support for Learning team is here to help students who might need extra social or academic support throughout their school day. We offer a range of supports designed to be inclusive and blend seamlessly into school life. Our team works closely with our two full-time Guidance Counsellors (Denise Maguire and Christine Morris) to ensure comprehensive care. Students may receive support within their regular classes or in smaller groups for more individualised attention. We prioritise resources based on student needs, aiming for fair distribution. We also provide social support throughout the day, focusing on helping students stay organised and ready to learn, and we encourage everyone to get involved in all aspects of school life.

We believe in working closely with parents. If you're considering enrolling a student with additional learning needs, please contact our Admissions Office first. For current students, or if you have new information to share, please reach out to our Support for Learning Co-ordinator, Imelda Hanratty. This team also manages applications for the Scheme of Reasonable Accommodations at the Certificate Examinations (RACE), a program by the State Examinations Commission (SEC) that helps students with disabilities or specific learning needs access and demonstrate their knowledge in state exams, typically in September of 6th Year for Leaving Cycle and November of 3rd Year for Junior Cycle students.
